FIRST ON 3: CB Zoning & Planning Commissioner arrested

CARLOLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The vice chair of the Carolina Beach Zoning and Planning Commission was behind bars Tuesday night.

Richard Knott, 64, faces several charges, including assault on a female, assault with a deadly weapon on a government official and communicating threats.

Knott was booked into the New Hanover County Jail Tuesday afternoon.

Knott’s bond is set at $150,000. There is no word yet on what led to these charges.
