FIRST ON 3: BCSO – two arrested for busting into safe

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (NEWS RELEASE) – Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrested two subjects this week involved in an investigation in the Ash area.

On Wednesday, August 11th, a property owner on Whiteville Road observed forced entry to the back door of their residence. The residence was last secured on July 26th. A safe with approximately $ 4,700 in US Currency and multiple blank checks were removed from the residence.

Detectives received notification that a subject successfully cashed one of the victim’s checks and another subject attempted to cash a second check at a local bank. After thorough investigation, Detective Chris Barbour did seek charges on the two listed subjects.

1 ct- Larceny after B&E
1 ct- Safecracking
BOND: $ 25,000 secured

ARRESTED: 8/13/2010
William Ross Stout (W/M) (30)
7232 Westbrook Ave SW, Ocean Isle Beach NC
CHARGES:
1 ct- Breaking and Entering
1 ct- Larceny after B&E
1 ct- Safecracking
BOND: $ 20,000 secured

Milligan and Stout both remain incarcerated at the Brunswick County Detention Facility. The case is still under investigation and additional charges are pending at this time.
