FIRST ON 3: Coty plant faces more uncertainty

PENDER COUNTY — Three months after there looked to be a ray of hope for workers at the Coty plant in Rocky Point, workers are now not so sure about their future. Employees at the plant tell WWAY management told them this morning that New Jersey-based Medicia, which said in December it was considering buying the plant, has decided not to make the purchase.

Workers say they were told at least part of the plant will stay open until November. They were also told the company is looking at six other potential buyers for the plant, formerly known as Del Laboratories.
