FIRST ON 3: County budget deficit could affect local parks & gardens

NEW HANOVER COUNTY – New Hanover County Commissioners have asked the Parks Department to go back to the drawing board and trim its budget.

Right now, the county is looking at a $11 – $14 million dollar shortfall.

At first glance, cuts would affect lighting fields at night, mowing schedules and maintenance.
