Five stores cited in Pender County alcohol sales investigation
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Nearly half of the convenience stores checked in Pender County received citations for selling alcoholic beverages to underage customers.
According to a news release, Pender County Vice/Narcotics went to eleven convenience stores across the county on Friday for underage compliance checks.
Out of those, five were issued citations.
They include:
- Brown’s Minute Mart – 201 US Highway 117, Burgaw
- Johnson’s Corner Store – 9031 US Highway 421, Currie
- Ya Ya Mini Mart – 28595 NC Highway 210, Currie
- Penderlea Mini Mart – 4624 NC Highway 11, Willard
- D Q Smith Store – 20 Doc Smith Road, Willard
The sheriff’s office says reports of the compliance checks will be forwarded to North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement for further ABC violations regarding underage sales.
