Flooding leads to two-hour delay for Pender schools Tuesday

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — All the rain yesterday and today and the ensuing flooding has caused Pender County Schools to announce a two-hour delay for Tuesday morning. Earlier Monday the district announced it had canceled all after-school activities. Conditions are expected to worsen this afternoon and this evening.

In a statement to news media, a district spokesperson said after-school care programs will operate for a limited time. Parents are urged to pick up their children from after-school care programs as soon as possible and by 5 p.m.
