Flu causes shortage of Bladen County school bus drivers

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The flu put the brakes on some school buses in Bladen County which means some students had to wait a little longer for their ride.

The school district says it’s part of a continuing problem a lack of substitute bus drivers.

A Bladen County Schools spokeswoman says three drivers have been out with the flu since the beginning of the week. Because of this they needed to call in substitute drivers.

They also had to split one of the routes which left some kids waiting for their buses a little longer.

The school district said they let parents know but they need more subs for times like this.
