Food Truck Frolic supports Ogden Park improvements
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It may have been cloudy, but that didn’t slow down the fun over at Ogden Park for the third Food Truck Frolic to help raise money for a new skate park.
With a variety of food to choose from and live music throughout the day, business was booming.
“It’s a win-win. I mean, the food trucks get exposure to the community, we get a percentage of the profits that they make, our citizens get to come out and enjoy the park. They get to have good food, listen to good music. Everybody wins,” said Eric Blaesing, a volunteer with New Hanover County Parks
Those in attendance thought the food trucks were a great idea for a fundraiser because it encouraged people to get out and enjoy the park.
“Oh I think the food truck is a great segue for a skate park, because it provides an opportunity for people to get outside, and that’s something that Wilmington needs more of, community based things,” said Layne Smith.
The skate park will be the first of it’s kind in the Wilmington area.
