About two dozen people are working the perimeter putting out hot spots.
The forest service says no homes or structures are being threatened but people living nearby could see smoke in the weeks to come because of the dry soil that will continue to smolder and burn.
There’s no word yet as to what sparked Monday’s fire.
Crews will continue to monitor and work around the fire.
