Former Marine faces Charlotte murder trial
CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) — A former Marine from Charlotte is scheduled for trial this month in an alcohol related wreck that killed a woman nearly three years ago.
The Charlotte Observer reported that 34-year-old Eric Jonathan Cox is charged with second-degree murder for the wreck.
Prosecutors say Cox was drinking alcohol Nov. 28, 2011, and then ran a red light and hit a car driven by 26-year-old H’Luon Siu. Her 4-year-old son was injured in the wreck.
Cox was not hurt.
He faces up to 30 years in prison if he’s convicted.
