While general manager of WWAY, Mitchell served as a TV Director for the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters in the mid ’80s. He left WWAY in 1988 due to an ownership change. He later joined Bahakel Broadcasting as GM of WKFT-TV in Fayetteville, and remained there until retiring.
Saieed is survived by his wife Barbara, son Michael, daughter Allison, two grandchildren, one great grandchild and two brothers.
Wilmington Funeral & Cremation is handling arrangements. A friend says Saieed will be laid to rest Dec. 2.
