Four taken to hospital after plane crashes in Catawba County
HICKORY, NC (AP) — Four people have been taken to the hospital after a plane crash in Catawba County.
The Federal Aviation Administration says a Beech BE-35 aircraft lost power on departure from Hickory Regional Airport around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the aircraft went down in a residential area. Four people were on board.
The Hickory Daily Record reports one person was airlifted to an area hospital because of injuries, and three people were taken to Frye Regional Medical Center.
Bergen said the FAA is looking into the crash, and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
