Funeral info released for Castle Street murder victim

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Family and friends of the Wilmington teen who was killed in a drive-by shooting will say their final goodbyes two days after Christmas.

Shane Simpson, 16, was killed on Castle Street before noon on Sunday. The teen was among several shot. Two teens are facing murder charges in connection with what police are calling a gang-related shooting.

According to the obituary, services will be held for Simpson on December 27 at 1 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church on S. 12th Street.
