Furry graduates wag their tails across the stage

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Tails were waggin’ Saturday as some adorable four-legged trained dogs had a graduation ceremony.

UNCW and paws4people Assistance Dog Training Program had their graduation ceremony today.

It was also their annual reunion.

These dogs work with UNCW students for two semesters to help train before they go with their client.

One trainer said it is a special moment to see a dog you have been working with finish their training.

“It’s an absolute joy to see all of the dogs come and graduate, but when you’ve had a hand in helping with their training it’s just beyond belief to see how much they’ve grown since you got them,” paws4people program manager Kaylie Miller said.

Dozens of dogs walked across the stage and even one who will be going to the District Attorney’s office to help comfort victims.
