Gastonia man finds human remains

GASTONIA — A Gastonia man searching for his wife’s stolen purse in some underbrush was surprised when he found a human skull.

The human remains were next to a busy road.

Police immediately estimated that this fully-clothed man lay in the patch of woods for at least a couple of years.

In the mound of dirt and old clothes police also found a hospital bracelet. The man did not get far. Gaston memorial hospital is only a block away.
