Girl wakes up with masked man hovering over her

Time: 1:11 a.m. – Sunday morning
Location: 6509 Greenville Loop Road
Offense: 1st Degree Burglary, Assault on Female, B&E Auto

Summary: A 15-year-old girl reported that she woke up to see a man with a mask standing over her. She said she fought with the man, pulling his mask off, and he ran out. She woke her mother and the mother’s boyfriend and told them what had happened. Then the same man was spotted outside in the victim’s mother’s car. The victim’s boyfriend tried to chase the intruder but could not catch him. Responding WPD officers set up a perimeter for the K-9 unit trying to track the man. SABLE also responded, but the man could not be found. The case is under investigation.
