Good morning, again, Carolina

I'm back. Yes, it's true. This morning I returned to my seat alongside Marcy Cuevas and Jerry Jackson on Good Morning Carolina. To be honest, I'm glad to be back. Nothing against our evening shows or the folks I worked with on that shift the last two months, but GMC is a little more relaxed stylewise. There's still hard news, but we get to kid around a bit more and have fun. And you viewers seem to like that.

The tough part is, of course, readjusting my sleep schedule. When I was working nights, I was going to bed around the same time I used to get up for the morning shift (around 1:30 a.m.). For this first day back there was another challenge. Our producer, who usually comes in around 11:30 p.m. was off, so Marcy and I had agreed to come in around 1 a.m. to get all the work done. Of course, there was no way I was gonna be able to get to sleep the right way. I tried to go to sleep around 4 p.m. I managed a couple hours before waking up around 8 p.m. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get to sleep. Eventually I gave up and came in to work around 11:30 p.m. The good thing is that I get to leave a little earlier than usual.

Of course, with me returning to GMC, you might be wondering about other folks around here. Ken Watlington is still at WWAY NewsChannel 3. He's starting his new job as promotions director at the station. That means he's responsible for putting together the spots that promote our content and services. With Ken moving to promotions and me heading back to the mornings, that means there's an opening on the anchor desk at night. But not for long. In one week, we'll have a new main anchor, when veteran newsman Steve Rondinaro joins our team. I hope you'll all be as welcoming to him as you've been to me in all the many roles I've filled in my short time here.

A while back I told you about all the changes you'd see here. Hopefully it hasn't been too difficult. Again, we've been trying to redefine the station for the better. Slowly but surely, we're doing that. And now, with a couple of new additions still on the way, it looks like our staffing changes will be settling down. Don't forget: We always like to know what you think about what you're seeing. After all, we're here for you.

So thanks to all of you who tuned in during my run at night. And good morning, again, to all of you loyal viewers who start each day me, Marcy and Jerry.
