Goolsby among new appointments to UNC Board of Governors

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Former state Sen. Thom Goolsby is among the new members appointed today to the UNC Board of Governors.

The state Senate elected eight people to the 32-member board for four-year terms starting July 1.

Goolsby, a Wilmington attorney, resigned his seat representing New Hanover County in the Senate back in August. Sen. Bill Rabon (R-Brunswick County) nominated his former colleague for the post.

Goolsby earned his law degree at UNC Chapel Hill.

The House is expected to hold its election to make appointments to the board tomorrow.
