‘Got to Be NC’ Competition Dining Series chefs show off

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The ‘Got to Be NC’ Competition Dining Series returned to Wilmington this week! Monday night winner Chris McCauley showed off his winning recipes on Good Morning Carolina.

The competition highlights local chef teams as they face off for three dinner events. Each night two chef teams face off preparing three course meals centered on a North Carolina ingredient only revealed an hour before they start cooking. Guests get involved with blind tastings of the meals, not knowing which chef prepared it. Guests vote on their favorites, helping select the winners.

The chef teams pair up chefs from different restaurants creating All-Star Dream Teams.

Pine Valley Market Executive Chef, Chris McCauley and his team won over taste buds Monday night. He was joined by his sous chef Paul Smith and the head baker from Sugar Island Bakery, Samantha Smith.

McCauley joined us on Good Morning Carolina Wednesday morning to show off his creations.

The competition continues Thursday at Bluewater Waterfront Grill in Wrightsville Beach. McCauley and his team will be facing off against Tuesday nights winner.
