Gov. Perdue on not getting “Race to the Top” money

“Secretary Duncan personally called me this morning to tell me that he remains excited about North Carolina’s Career and College – Ready, Set, Go! initiative, and to encourage us to apply for round two of Race to the Top. Our first round application was strong – North Carolina was in the final 16 applications out of 41 – but only two states were ultimately chosen. We clearly made a strong showing, and with more than $3 billion up for grabs in June, we will be back.”
