Governor to hold fourth NC economic workshop
RALEIGH — North Carolina’s governor is holding her fourth workshop for government, business and citizens to learn how federal stimulus funds will be administered.
Gov. Beverly Perdue’s office said she will speak Thursday afternoon at a workshop at Wake Technical Community College.
The workshop will include representatives of state and federal agencies who handle the money. They will discuss fund status in their agencies, give information about future opportunities and explain how to apply.
Perdue said the state is expected to receive more than $8 billion in federal recovery money.
Workshops also will be held Friday in Wilmington and next week in Charlotte. Sessions already have been held in Winston-Salem, Clyde and Kinston.
