Grant to help with transportation planning in Wilmington area

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington area is getting some financial assistance to work on bike and other transportation issues.

The North Carolina Sustainable Communities Task Force has awarded the Wilmington Metropolitan Planning Organization a $15,000 grant to incorporate transportation planning activities associated with bicycle, pedestrian and transit initiatives in a four-county region.

Our area was one of 13 across the state to get a grant from the task force.
