Greensboro police shoot man sought by NY officers
GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man sought by New York authorities in connection with a slaying has died after he was shot by Greensboro police.
The News & Record of Greensboro reported that New York City police detectives notified Greensboro police at 5 p.m. Sunday that the man was believed to be at an address in Greensboro. They also said they believed the man had stolen a vehicle.
Greensboro police said when they approached the man at the vehicle, he opened fire. Three officers returned fire, hitting the man. He was pronounced dead while being taken to a hospital.
Police did not immediately identify him because his family hasn’t been notified of his death.
