Grinch steals Christmas decor
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — There is something a little Grinchy happening in Brunswick County. Christmas decor has gone missing, and some folks are left scratching their heads.
“(I) turned the corner, and I said, ‘Well, something’s missing,'” Tim Linkhorn said.
Linkhorn is a part of the homeowners association for Mallory Creek Plantation. The Christmas decorations they put up Tuesday are gone. Well, half of them just taken right off of one of the signs out front of the neighborhood. The other sign was left decorated for now.
“We just wanna make it nice for people when they come home,” Linkhorn said. “See some Christmas decorations and maybe cheer them up a little bit.”
This wasn’t the Griswold house, and honestly the decorations weren’t all that expensive. Linkhorn says that just is not the point.
“No, that isn’t the point. As I say it isn’t what we lost. It is just the spirit of the things,” he said, adding he has some words for the Grinch who stole their Christmas, too. “I feel sorry for ya. If that’s the only thing you have to do with your life, it’s sad.”
They plan to put up new decorations. You can steal their decorations, but not even the Grinch can steal their Christmas spirit.
