Group home on hold in Navassa
It looks like a controversial group home for troubled teens will not be built in Navassa after all; at least for the time being.
A developer had wanted to build the locked facility for about 12 people ages 12 to 17. Amanda Davis, the attorney involved in the procedure, tells us the property owner has backed out.
Davis said the man who owns the land on which the facility would be built removed his permit application mainly because he fears how it would affect his relationship with the people of Navassa.
