MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WWAY) — Celebrity chef and television personality Guy Fieri is scheduled to appear in Myrtle Beach this week for the official ribbon cutting of Downtown Flavortown at Myrtle Beach Mall.

The public ceremony is scheduled for Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at 10177 N. Kings Highway.

Fieri is expected to attend alongside representatives from FACE Amusement Group, community leaders and other guests.

The Myrtle Beach location is the second Downtown Flavortown venue, following the original in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

According to the company, the Myrtle Beach location spans about 50,000 square feet and includes a restaurant with roughly 460 seats, more than 100 arcade games, 14 bowling lanes, a bar and private event spaces.

The outdoor ribbon-cutting ceremony will be open to the public and credentialed media.

Following the ceremony, the venue will host a private event for local first responders, contest winners and other invited guests. That portion of the event will not be open to the general public.

Fieri is also expected to be in Wilmington a few days later for a Food Network production.

According to a filming permit application submitted to the City of Wilmington, Triple D Nation is scheduled to film Monday, Sept. 14, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Copper Penny, 109 Chestnut St.

The series follows Fieri as he returns to restaurants previously featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives to see how they have changed.
