H1N1 claims first life in North Carolina

The first death in North Carolina linked to H1N1 has been confirmed. An adult in Guilford County died Friday.

The patient had other health problems, which likely contributed to the death.

State Health Director Heffrey Engel said H1N1 has been similar to the seasonal flu, which kills about 36,000 people every year in the US.
