Habitual felon turns himself in for making bomb threats
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says the man who called in two bomb threats to the New Hanover County Courthouse has turned himself in.
A Sheriff’s Office spokesman says Rodney Renee Brown, 50, called in a bomb threat just before noon and another right at noon yesterday.
Brown is a Wilmington resident.
According to the NC Department of Public Safety, Brown has a criminal record dating back to 1990. He has multiple assault, larceny and drug convictions.
He was last released from prison in January of 2016 after serving more than seven years for selling drugs and being convicted as a habitual felon.
