Halloween mask armed robbery under investigation
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are searching for a man they say was wearing a Halloween mask when he used a handgun to rob a Wilmington convenience store Tuesday night.
Just after 8 p.m., officers say they got a call reporting an armed robbery at Russell’s Quik Stop at 2101 Wrightsville Avenue. That’s where police say a man in an orange Halloween mask took money from inside the store.
When police got to the scene, they set up a perimeter in the area after talking to the victim. Officers say the robber is described as a black male, who was wearing blue jeans and a grey hoodie, along with the mask.
They say after he stole the cash, the man took off running towards Dexter Street. Wilmington Police are still investigating.
