Hampstead man sentenced to prison in burglaries


BURGAW, NC (StarNews) — A Hampstead man was sentenced this week to a a minimum of almost five years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple burglary charges.

Jeffrey Alan Amorin, 32, pleaded guilty Monday to three counts of first-degree burglary before Judge W. Allen Cobb Jr. and was sentenced to 4.9 to 6.9 years in prison, according to a news release from the Pender County District Attorney’s Office.

Amorin burglarized three homes and multiple vehicles April 23, 2015, in the White Bridge housing development in Hampstead and was apprehended while still in the development with the victims’ property, the release said.
