Happening this week: ‘Clybourne Park’ at Red Barn Studio

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning play ‘Clybourne Park’ previews this week at the Red Barn Studio in Wilmington for two weeks before moving to Thalian Hall.

The two act play begins in 1959, as nervous community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a black family.

The second act is set in the same house in present day, as the now predominantly African-American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification.

Based on the classic ‘A Raisin in the Sun’ it is directed by Joy Gregory.

Tickets are $25 for the Friday-Sunday shows and $10 for the Thursday shows at www.thalian.org.
