Happening this weekend: 10th annual Rock for a Cure

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Rocking out for a good cause! The 10th annual Rock for the Cure is tomorrow.

Rock for a Cure benefits the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation’s Pink Ribbon Project. The event is run by the UNCW Communication Studies Society and raises awareness of breast cancer. All funds raised go to local women to help them get screened and treated for breast cancer.

This year, UNCW senior Jessi Sykes will be opening for the faculty rock band, The School Boys.

The event runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. tomorrow night on the rooftop of Reel Cafe. There is a $5 cover for the event.
