Happening this weekend: Veteran Benefit Experience Center

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If you are a veteran or an eligible spouse looking for assistance with claims or benefits, there’s an even this weekend that can help.

The Veteran Benefit Experience Center and Stand Down event is happening at The Wilmington Elks Lodge 532 (5102 Oleander Dr., Wilmington) Thursday, March 22 through Saturday March 24.

According to a release, VA officials will be available to meet face to face with veterans and their dependents. There will be information on healthcare, social service, counselors and more.

Multiple area businesses have partnered with the American Legion, District 9 and the New Hanover Veterans Council to provide refreshments and food for the event.

Last year’s event assisted approximately 800 area veterans.
