Harlem Globetrotter legends face locals in charity basketball game
Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — Local coaches, elected officials and crew members of the USS Gravely will take on the Harlem All Stars.
Portions of the proceeds will help establish scholarships for student-athletes at Cape Fear Community College.
Meadowlark Lemon, along with other Globetrotters, will be playing. Lemon attended Williston Industrial High School before joining the Globetrotters and says there’s no place like home.
“Coming back here, it’s like coming home,” he said. “It’s not just going to another city. This is home. No matter where I go throughout the world. I live in Scottsdale, Arizona. Scottsdale is where I live. Wilmington is home.”
The games will take place at 7 p.m., on Friday and Saturday night at CFCC’s Schwartz Center.
