Thalian Hall cancellations due to HB2

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — North Carolina’s House Bill 2 has led to cancellations of shows and conferences across the state. Now, the impacts have become local.

Yesterday, an architect conference announced its move from Wilmington. Today Thalian Hall takes a hit.

Thalian Hall Executive Director Tony Rivenbank tells us a major artist cancelled for next year’s season. In addition, they have lost a film booked for “Cinematique.” Rivenbank did not provide a name for either.

A UNCW spokesperson tells us they have not had any cancellations at this time.

We also reached out to Cape Fear Community College, but have not heard back.
