WILMINGTON, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) — A hearing to review a prayer for judgment that New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger received more than a year ago was continued Monday.
Berger missed the first docket call in Courtroom 317 at the New Hanover County Court, but just before 11 a.m. a second call went out and Berger spoke with an attorney before leaving.
The charges were simple assault and injury to personal property that stem from a June 2011 incident with Berger’s then-girlfriend Heather Blaylock. Blaylock called police after Berger allegedly ripped the door handle off her car.
