High tide cuts opening night at the Ghost Ship short

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Battleship North Carolina transformed into a ghost ship tonight.

It was opening night for The Ghost Ship at the Battleship North Carolina Friday night. The battleship will become a haunted house at night with actors and special effects for the rest of October. The Ghost Ship was open for only an hour Friday because of the recent rainfall and high tide.

The staff at the battleship say the Ghost Ship is an exciting experience for the entire family.

“The ship is real,” said Danielle Wallace, who is the programs director at the Battleship North Carolina. “It’s not a set and so we have accentuated some things on the ship by doing some lights and sound and adding some ghouls and zombies and stuff like that for Halloween.”

The Ghost Ship will run every weekend in October starting at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Battleship North Carolina for $10.
