Highway Patrol trooper arrested for DWI, kicking police officer

RALEIGH (AP) — A Highway Patrol trooper arrested for DWI is also facing charges for kicking a Raleigh police officer in the shin.

According to a police report, 38-year-old Steven Bradley was driving his personal vehicle when he got distracted, ran a stop sign and drove into a pond Tuesday night. Police said the car left 26 feet of skid marks.

His 7-year-old daughter and 18-year-old son were in car but not injured.

The police report lists Bradley’s blood-alcohol level at 0.11. The legal limit is 0.08.

He was released on a written promise to appear in court January 20.

A spokesman says the patrol is disappointed and Bradley has been placed on investigative leave.

A home phone number for Bradley was unlisted.
