Hoggard High football player headed to UNC-Chapel Hill
Hoggard High School senior T.J. Leifheit has been rated one of the top offensive linemen in the country. His size is a large part of that; he is 6’7” and 320 pounds.
Over the weekend, T.J. chose the North Carolina Tar Heels as his collegiate choice saying no to Southern Cal and the University of Tennessee.
T.J. made several visits to Chapel Hill during the recruiting process, including this past weekend. Monday he told WWAY why he is going to be wearing Carolina blue the next 4 years.
“The offensive line coach and I have an outstanding relationship. We talk a few times a week. It’s been that way for a year,” he said. “I also have 3 former teammates up there; Casey Barth, Jonathan Cooper and Mark House.”
Hoggard head coach Scott Braswell said, “He’s been getting phone calls and letters and there’s a lot of pulling and pressure involved. Hopefully now he’ll just enjoy the rest of his senior year and get ready to go.”
T.J. Leifheit will enroll at UNC this January in their early enrollment program in order to be ready for spring football at North Carolina in 2010.
