Home tour opens door to Wilmington’s history

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Azalea Festival is more than all that tasty food and fun games.

Home owners T.J. and Judy Porter revealed Wilmington’s historic past by hosting the ribbon cutting yesterday for the Azalea Festival Historic Home Tour, which featured ten historic sites in all.

WWAY’s Chris Phillips joined Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo in the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Historic Wilmington Foundation sponsors the tour. Executive Director George Edwards says the Porter’s home, the Alexander Sprunt House, is a great illustration of preserving history.
