Home invasion suspect posed as Bible salesman
Sheriff’s deputies say a man wanted for holding a woman at knife-point was posing as a Bible salesman.
The incident happened around 2pm Wednesday, on Marrow Road in the Kirkwood subdivision in New Hanover County. The female victim told deputies a tall black man dressed in a black suit came to her house and asked her if she wanted to buy a Bible.
When the woman said no and tried to close her door, deputies say the man forced his way into the house. He threatened her with a knife, and hit her with a frying pan. The woman was eventually able to defend herself using pepper spray, and the man ran off.
The suspect is described as a tall, well-spoken black male in his 40’s, with short hair. He was last seen wearing a black suit and black gloves.
