Hope Abounds: Build sand castles to benefit those fighting cancer

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Attention sand castle lovers! There is an event happening this weekend to benefit people who are battling cancer.

Hope Abounds is holding an event to crown the “Castles for Cancer Champion”.

You can show off your castle building skills this Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at the Surf City Welcome Center.

The money raised will go to help local women, teens and children currently undergoing cancer treatment.

Participants will have up to 3 hours to build their own sand castle with tools they bring to the beach.
