Huckabee comes to NC amid surge in polls

GREENSBORO (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee will hold fundraisers in Greensboro and Charlotte this week as he continues to gain momentum in the polls.

The former Arkansas governor will hold a dinner fundraiser in Greensboro on Thursday and a breakfast fundraiser the next day in Charlotte. That’s according to state campaign director Bill Cobey.

Huckabee has surged from the back of the pack to the top of the polls among Republicans in Iowa. Cobey says that momentum has driven huge demand for Huckabee’s fundraisers in North Carolina.

Cobey says Huckabee will also speak in Asheville on Saturday at the annual Christmas dinner hosted by former U.S. Representative Charles Taylor.
