Hundreds come out to Ogden Park for Food Truck Rodeo
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Hundreds of people took advantage of the nice weather to head out to Ogden Park Sunday afternoon. There were plenty of food trucks for them to enjoy and it was all in support of New Hanover County Parks.
Barbecue, fish and chips, and snow cones were just some of the food items you could enjoy at the Food Truck Rodeo.
A percentage of the food truck sales will go towards improvements at various New Hanover County Parks.
Program coordinator Jodi Rich says nearly 30 businesses were there and the Parks Conservancy hopes to have even more in the future.
“On our social media pages, people have said, ‘Hey, how can I get involved next time?'” Rich said. “A lot of the trucks come by word of mouth and they’ll contact us and we’ll get up with them. As long as we have space, we can keep expanding.”
The next Food Truck Rodeo will be held at Hugh McRae Park. The Parks Conservancy has been putting on this biannual event since 2014.
