Hurricanes sign 2004 third-round draft pick
RALEIGH (AP) — The Carolina Hurricanes have signed 2004 draft pick Casey Borer to a two-year, two-way contract.
The defenseman, who was a third-round pick, will make $475,000 at the NHL level. If he's sent to the minor leagues he will receive $50,000 in the first year and $60,000 in the second year.
Borer also received a $75,000 signing bonus.
Borer was taken with the 69th overall pick, and recently completed his four-year career at St. Cloud State.
