Ice skating to help Pender County’s Relay for Life

The beautiful and very warm weather this weekend caused some to chose a cooler past time – ice skating.

The Wilmington Ice House in Ogden Park donated half of its ticket sales to the Pender County Relay for Life. The money will go to the organization’s Kids Walk On event May 2nd at Topsail High School.

“Pender County is a lot smaller scale than New Hanover, but it’s just as important and all the proceeds that we can raise for the Cancer Society to help find a cure, it’s very worthwhile,” said Irene Villa from Pender County Relay for Life.

Relay for Life is a national organization that benefits cancer research.
