Illegal immigrant pleads guilty to manslaughter

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — An illegal immigrant will spend at least five years behind bars for manslaughter.

Jamie Alexander Cruz pleaded guilty to killing Jose Florino in a mobile home park in Leland last year.

Prosecutors say Cruz and the victim got into a fight because Cruz was making sexual advances towards Florino’s wife.

Cruz ended up stabbing Florino in the throat, killing him.
