Illness spreads through Camp Dixie

A camp for children and teens in Bladen County is closed for the week after dozens of campers and staffers got sick.

About 60 campers and counselors at Camp Dixie were sick Friday.

The director of ministry says some of the symptoms included fever, congestion, sore throat and vomiting.

One staff member was diagnosed with influenza B, which is a different strain of flu than H1N1.

The camp has been sanitized and is scheduled to reopen July 5th.
