ILM encourages early check-in during security updates
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Work to update security technology at Wilmington International Airport could mean some slowdowns getting through TSA screeners for a while.
Airport Deputy Director Julie Wilsey says new full body image scanners should arrive May 30. It will take a couple weeks to install them.
The renovations and upgrades mean the passenger screening area has been reduced to just one lane. To avoid missing a flight, the airport suggests passengers arrive at least two hours before their scheduled departure.
All the work should be done by late June.
