ILM names memorial plaza after former board chairman
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A change is coming to Wilmington International Airport and it’s to honor Parks Griffin, a former chairman of the airport authority.
Griffin died last year after a long career as a Wilmington businessman.
He was co-founder of the insurance brokerage GriffinEstep, a graduate of UNCW, and a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine.

Now, the Parks L. Griffin Plaza will be constructed as part of the overall terminal expansion plaza.
Work should be complete in the coming years.
